Burgers, frozen custards and chicken are the specialties at the newly opened eatery Chiquito & Co located in Fitzroy. Were they busy? Yes. Were they welcoming? Definitely yes. Did the place smell amazing? Yes, Yes, YES!

Walking in, we were flashed with Soda Mess which were absolutely refreshing. There’s various flavours and we definitely loved each and every one of them.

Soda Mess & Co – $6.90 each

For those who love cheese and chicken, you’ve got the cheesy popcorn chicken to satisfy you. It was great but the chicken was a touch on the dry side.

Cheesy Popcorn Chicken – $8

My favourite was the haloumi fries. Cheese fried in batter? Who doesn’t like that! It was just absolutely smashing!

Haloumi Fries – $9.90

Now, I’m not a fried chicken fan but these southern fried chicken wings were great. They were on the oily side but they were not dry at all. They were bursting with flavour and that pickle was on point.

Southern Fried Chicken (Wings) – $12.90

The stars of the night came out! Burgers, chippies, mac & cheese and onion rings! Boy, do they look delectable. The sides were absolutely awesome sauce, especially the onion rings (defs my favourite side!).

I got the magic mushroom and I found the bun to be quite dry and the portobello mushroom was quite oily. It was disappointing but the sauces were lovely.

For those who loves crazy shakes, well Chiquito is the place for you. Based with frozen custards and topped with ridiculous toppings, this could actually be a dessert and not just a shake.

Of course there were Sundaes too for those Sundae lovers.

Smores Sundae – $8.50

Finally, you cannot leave here without trying a concrete. What exactly is a concrete? Well they are frozen custards with many mix ins and boy, I absolutely adored these.

Concrete – $5.50

Will I come back? Definitely for those frozen custards, concretes and haloumi fries. The burgers and the chicken on the other hand weren’t something that I’d travel all the way to Fitzroy for.
