If you have a sweet tooth then you’ll definitely know the name Reynold Poernomo who rose to fame from Masterchef. If you’ve always wanted to visit Koi in Sydney but didn’t want to travel, I’ve got good news for you. Reynold has opened a pop-up store at Hwkr food hall along with Chanteen by Diana Chan. So of course I made it a date to visit the pop up store because well, EVERYONE LOVES DESSERTS!!!
NSW: Pho An, Bankstown
Pho topped with rare beef – $15
We were meeting a customer near Bankstown and the lovely customer decided to take us out for lunch. Since we were short on time, she took us to the legendary Pho An where people in the US asks the local to take them here so my expectations were quite high now. We walked in and it was super busy but there were a few tables free and we snagged one to ourselves. I got the medium pho topped with rare beef. Now, the service was so efficient that within 5 minutes, our food came out all steamy and ready to be eaten.
NSW: Courtney’s Brasserie, Parramatta
I was up in Sydney for workies and I was in charge of finding a place for dinner and since we were already in Parramatta, I decided to check out Courtney’s Brasserie for some modern Australian dishes. I made a booking for 3 and we made our way there.
Sushi Hub, Melbourne
The babies decided they wanted to try out the new sushi train place and so I third wheeled them and ended up at Sushi Hub. At the front of the store you can buy sushi to either take away or eat in. The babies weren’t interested in that, no siree, they were interested in the sushi train and that was fully packed! We had to line up waited for maybe 15 minutes in peak lunch time.
NSW: Meat & Wine Co, Darling Harbour (Sydney)
So its dinner time and it was ladies choice of where to go (ladies choice meant ME hohoho). I decided to try meat and wine co since I’ve been hanging to try it in melbourne but never gotten the chance. We walked in and there was a table for two (didn’t have reservations AND it was super full for a Tuesday night). We looked at the menu and I decided to get the Monte Black Fillet with mash and merrindo valley mushroom sauce. I got the steak medium rare and when it came it out it was pretty decent. I found it a bit tough to slice through though which was a bit disappointing. The sauce was okay and so was the mash.
NSW: Briars Country Lodge & Inn, Burradoo
Work trip again and for lunch I got to go to Briars. When I got there, it was amazing location and setting, I felt like I was in a little country town (my workmate turned to me and said we were kinda were…).
