Unica Cucina E Caffe, Rosebud

After a hard day at work, we needed to stop for lunch and when we passed a seafood place in Rosebud, we just had to stop by. Walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and had their attention the whole time. It wasn’t super busy on a Thursday but that just means we’ll get our food way quicker!

Vapiano, Melbourne

Vapiano, an Italian chain that’s all over Australia that serves up pasta and pizza has released a new winter menu which includes PUMPKIN SOUP! Who doesn’t love pumpkin soup! I digress, Vapiano is located in Flinders Lane and there are parking on the street but it’s not a lot and it is quite exy so be prepared to park a touch further and walk there. But don’t let that deter you because the staff and service here are top notch!

Fiorini’s Pizza & Italian, Toorak

I had a date with Ms Curly Fries and unfortunately the restaurant we were planning on going to had a power outage *insert crying face* so of course, being the spontaneous people we were, we made our way Toorak road in search for a new date place. Reaching towards the end of the street, we eyed a quiet Italian restaurant, Fiorini’s Pizza & Italian and in we went. The staff were super duper friendly and were so patient as we looked over the menu to decide what we wanted to have.

Mjolner, Melbourne

Ever since Mr D heard there’s a viking inspired restaurant in Melbourne, he made sure I made a reservation for his birthday at Mjolner. Located in Hardware Street, there’s no huge neon signs to tell people where it is except for a huge door with a light shining on the logo. I missed it the first time walking past but this concealed door made it more exciting for us.

Elephant Corridor, Glen Waverly

The Glen, renown for difficult parking and heaps of restaurants that’s pumping with customers on every night regardless if it’s a weekday or weekend. Work organised a dinner and Indian cuisine was on the agenda, a booking at Elephant Corridor was made on a Tuesday night. If you are driving, you might get lucky and be able to snag a spot in front of the restaurant but if not, I’d suggest you make your way to the car park complex because you’ll be guaranteed a spot AND it’s free! The restaurant itself was quite darkly lit (guess it’s more date-y??) but the staff were super duper friendly and welcoming.

Gypsy & Pig, Melbourne

Hidden away on Little Lonsdale Street sits a little Japanese restaurant with no obvious signs that it’s a restaurant that specialises in Japanese Pork with their signature Tonkatsu which is deep-fried pork-loin covered in panko. So, if you’re feeling like pork or want to have good pork, this is the place you definitely want to be at. It’s very cosy inside and only has one chef which means it’s intimate guys! All the staff are friendly and you get service with a smile.

Tahina, Fitzroy

Tahina Bar in Northcote has been around for about 3 years now and they’ve opened up another one on Brunswick Street in busy Fitzroy. Tahina serves up Israeli vegetarian street food along with superfood smoothies and wholesome ingredients. From the outside it looks teeny tiny but when you walk out to the back, there’s quite a large courtyard so don’t get fooled like me!

San Telmo, Melbourne

When I had a taste of South American food, I knew that I had to check out the Argentinian restaurant San Telmo. Seeing as we would be having steak, I definitely hit up a steak loving friend and dropped by on a Wednesday night. We made a booking online and depending on what day you go, you may need to put in your credit card details to secure your booking. Oh, it does get busy so do make sure you make a booking. Now, back to the restaurant, located in an alleyway and opposite to a car park (park there for convenience guys!), you won’t miss the restaurant due to its big sign in front.

Pizza, everyone loves a good ol’ wood fired pizza and what’s even better? When you get 2 hours of all you can eat pizza for only $20 pp. Remember that this is only on a Thursday and be sure to make a booking because it does get busy. Oh for those big drinkers, if you pay $35, not only will you get all you can eat pizzas but you can also get all you can drink beer as well (put your eating pants on yo!). Anywho, inside was bustling and full of laughter. The lovely staff showed us to our table outside and it wasn’t too cold since there’s heaters out there.

L’Hotel Gitan, Prahan

Jacques Reymond has always been on my to do list but unfortunately, I never had a chance to. So, I decided to check out his gastropub instead, L’Hotel Gitan located in Prahan. I made a reservation on a Saturday night with Mr D and Miss Pear and boy, does this place get busy! There’s heaps of parking in the front so another thing to not worry about. Anywho, walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and was shown to our table.
