A good thing about working in Mulgrave is that you’re real close to plenty of food places to hit up. We decided to venture out and check out Oasis. I’ve heard of Oasis since Mr D regularly brings home sweets for me (sweet right??!) and I was super duper excited to have lunch here. It’s on the main road and there’s a carpark around the back of the venue. As we walked in, there’s the cafe on the right side and a grocer on the left side so after eating, you can definitely pick up anything else you need to bring home.
We got the Lebanese BBQ to share and it consisted of lamb and chicken skewers, kafta, hommus, salad, garlic sauce and pita. All the meats were seasoned oh so well but they were all quite dry which was a shame. The pita was fresh, fluffy and tasted so good with the hommus.
We got a pumpkin pie (I had forgotten what it was called). This was great! The pastry was crispy and flakey at the same time and the flavour was oh my golly gosh delish.
The eggplant chippies were amazing! It was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside and of course we felt healthier eating them (if anything fried could be healthy).
Oasis had some hits and misses and I would definitely recommend getting the eggplant chippies and the pumpkin pies. It does get quite busy so be prepared to fight for a table. I will be returning to check out the brunch menu because who can say no to brunch.
