When people think of kebabs they think of a drunken night out and stumbling to the closest van or food truck to grab a big ol’ kebab to sober up. You all know about HSP packs and kebabs but have you had a HSP burger? No? Let me take you down to Rambo’s Kebabs in Clayton. Situated right next to the petrol station, you can either park at the servo or on the side street. The staff are friendly and efficient and will make sure you get your drunken (or in my case sober) feed.
We got a few things to share because well, sharing is caring. The chippies here are awesome sauce. Crunchy and full of chicken salt, the way we love them.
Small Chips – $4.50
The Rambo’s special kebab includes a mix of chicken and lamb meat, lettuce, tomatoes and garlic sauce wrapped in homemade gozleme and this was the BOMB! The gozleme is a Turkish flatbread and it’s so light and crispy, I could have it on its own. There were generous portions of meats but we did find it a touch too dry and needed a touch more sauce.
Rambo’s Special – $17
Now to the man of the day, the HSP burger. The burger was filled with lamb, chicken, chippies, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce and served on a fluffly sweet bun TOPPED with 23k GOLD, it was definitely a fancy feed. Again we found that it needed a touch more sauce to make it perfect. It is on the pricier side at $25 a pop, it is definitely a treat.
HSP burger – $25
To end our meal we got baklava to share. Unfortunately, we found it to be quite soggy with no crispness and flakiness of the pastry and the filling was almost non-existent.
Baklava – $7
Rambo’s Kebab does awesome kebabs (you’d hope so since it’s in their name) and chippies. The burger is definitely made for when you want something a bit on the fancy side. Both the kebab and the burger needed a touch more sauce to make it totes amazeballs. Drunk or sober, Rambo’s have definitely got you covered.
