MKS Spices’n Things, Dandenong

Working around the South East suburbs, a colleague suggested we hit up MKS Spices’n Things for some quick and delicious Sri Lankan food for our quick lunch. There’s plenty of parking around but unfortunately it’s all paid parking which was a shame. MKS is a grocery store out front and a quick eats round the back. Now, don’t come here expecting awesome sauce service because it’s a quick feed and it does get busy.

For $10.50, it can get you two veggie curries with a chicken/beef/lamb curry and biriyani rice. I got the okra curry, eggplant curry and of course chicken curry. The chicken curry was totes AMAZEBALLS! It was a touch spicy so be prepared. The eggplant was another winner, full of flavour and definitely hitting the spot. I wasn’t a huge fan of the okra curry, a touch slimy and needed more flavour.

Miss Curly Fries got the beef kothu which is is like cut up roti, veggies, eggs and beef all in a stir fry. It was wasn’t too heavy or oily but it was cosy and felt like I was eating a cloud. A delicious and meaty cloud.

MKS Spices’n Things in Dandy makes hearty meals for a very reasonable price. It’s quick, it’s delicious and you can eat on the run if you have to. I will definitely be back when I’m craving Sri Lankan food.
