A date with the girlies meant time to check out a new eatery. Since we were slowly trying to go meat free, I suggested Vegie Hut in Boxhill. This place gets super busy so make sure you make a reservation and parking is quite difficult so perhaps park a bit further away and walk in. Now, back to business, walking inside we were greeted by friendly staff and was shown to our table. Settling in, we started to flick through the menu and decided on what we were getting.
The vegie dumplings had great filling but the skin was quite rubbery and quite thick.
Grilled Vegie Dumplings (5pc) – $4.80
Fried Kuey Teow came out it looked so delish. However, we found it to be a touch on the salty side and quite oily.
Fried Kuey Teow – $13.80
Finally, the last dish of the night was the curry soy chicken and this was also quite salty which was a shame. Oh, it doesn’t come with rice so make sure you order some on the side.
Curry Soy Chicken – $17.80
The staff was friendly, the service was quick but the food did not tickle my fancy at all which was a shame. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it didn’t tick my box. Sorry Vegie hut but I will be checking out the rest of Boxhill first before returning anytime soon.
