V Series, Kew

Mr & Mrs Tequila were slowly becoming vegan and wanted to catch up over vegan food at V Series located in Kew. This is located right next to a car park so there were plenty of parking. We made a booking for 6:30PM but arrived super early and there wasn’t anyone there yet so we got in, sat down and started ordering.

For entrees we got steamed buns with BBQ Tofu and my gosh, this was beautiful. It had so much flavour that you’d forget that it was vegetarian. The BBQ tofu reminded me of pork belly and the chili gave it a hint of spiciness which worked so well.

Steamed Buns: BBQ Tofu (2pc) – $10
Cucumber, sour pickled, coriander, chili & peanuts

Mrs Tequila got the Taco halloumi and the halloumi was cooked perfectly. It was amazing and full of flavour and inside that taco along with the salsa, it was amazing. It was fresh and the overall dish was so light, not even heavy at all.

Taco Halloumi – $18
Halloumi, avocado, tomato & cucumber salsa, rocket, lettuce, jalapeno & sour cream in taco shell

Mr Tequila got the spaghetti with basil and hazelnut pesto and when it came out it was ginormous. However, we found that it didn’t burst with flavour and it was very subtle which was a bit disappointing.

Spaghetti with Basil & Hazelnut Pesto – $18
Broccoli, sugar snap, avocado, rocket salad & topped with parmesan

I got the green tea soba and my gosh this was AMAZEBALL! It had so much flavour from sweetness to umami to a touch of sourness. It was very light and refreshing. There were so many textures going on and the soba was just awesome sauce. Definitely my favourite dish of the night.

Green Tea Soba – $18
Organic green tea buckwheat noodles tossed with avocado, spinach, kale, cashew & sesame seeds

For dessert we got the vegan cupcakes, baked cheesecake and red velvet. The baked cheesecake was creamy but a touch dry but super sweet and did taste like a cheesecake. The red velvet however, did not taste like red velvet and was missing the cheesy creaminess flavour. We were quite disappointed with the cupcakes since everything else was just oh so good.

Cupcakes – $5.50 each
(L to R): Baked cheesecake, red velvet

V Series is a great place for vegetarians and vegans and I will definitely be back to check out the rest of the menu. The BBQ Tofu steamed buns and the green tea soba was just AMAZEBALLS and definitely a recommended dish.
