NSW: Circa Espresso, Parramatta

I’m not a huge fan of hotel breakfasts and I like to explore different cafes when I’m out of Melbourne. Since my hotel was in Parramatta, I found a neat cafe just 2 minutes walk in a shipping container which everyone seems to be raving about – Circa Espresso. It was quite busy at 8AM but I guess people were dropping by to get caffeinated like I was. It was very cosy inside and I the staff made sure I was looked after.

There were a collection of pictures framed along the wall and cook books on the shelves. Love the homely feel, made me feel like I was back in Melbourne.

i got a pot of masala chai and it was so flavourful! I LOVED IT! It also came with honey but the honey was a dash around the inside of the cup. However, I found that it wasn’t enough honey and would have liked it if they gave me a pot of honey so I could measure it in myself.

It was a tad cold so I decided to get the baked eggs since I couldn’t say no to sujuk or feta. When it came out, it was super hot (that’s why the brown bag is there guys!) and smelt DELISH! I like to mix everything together and found that the dish itself needed a touch more flavour. It was spicy as well so be prepared all you non-spicy eaters.

Baked Eggs – $19
Free range eggs with sujuk, danish feta, diced tomatoes with a hint of chilli and sourdough

It’s a great little hidden cafe and everyone drops by for coffee and I wish I had ordered a coffee too but I enjoyed my chai. The staff were super friendly and made sure everything was A-OK and the portions of the dishes were quite decent and I couldn’t finish everything. When I’m back in Paramatta, I’ll definitely check out the coffees and other dishes the cafe has to offer.
