The stooges haven’t seen each other in FOREVER which mean it was time for a catch up so…we chose brunch and decided to do something local – Jack B. Nimble. Lucky for Mr D, he got to come along to our brunch date and see how awesome we were. There’s a few parking spots right in front of the the cafe but if you couldn’t snag a spot, there’s parking around the corner so don’t fret my lovelies.

It’s a cosy little thing and there’s a courtyard at the back so don’t be fooled. There’s heaps of little knick knacks scattered around the place which makes it very homely.

We managed to get a spot on the huge table by the door and ordered our drinkies. Stooge 1 got a cappuccino which she found quite average. I got the matcha latte and it was a touch on the bitter side and Stooge 2 got a mocha and that too, was quite average.

Stooge 1 was going to have a second lunch (a little piggy isn’t she?) so she opted for something on the lighter side, the house baked granola and mix of berries and yoghurt. This was quite light and Stooge 1 absolutely smashed it. She loved it.

House-baked Granola – $8
with shaved green apples, goji berries, natural yoghurt and creamy Farmhouse milk

Stooge 2 got the veggie option – roasted cauliflower. This was oh so flavoursome and oh my gosh bursting with flavour. It was very fresh with cucumber strips and this kept Stooge 2 quite happy.

Roasted Cauliflower – $16
with chickpeas, hommus, kale, sumac-spiced yoghurt, tamarind, fresh coriander, pomegranate & crispy quinoa

Mr D isn’t a brunch person so when he saw the chicken burger, he couldn’t resist. The chicken was cooked perfectly, very juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was not dry at all which was what we often see with chicken burgers. We did find the apple slaw to be a touch on the bland side. Other than that, it was quite delish.

Southern Fried Chicken Burger – $17
with chipotle aioli, cheese, iceberg lettuce & green apple slaw

I also decided to go meatless and went for the medley of mushrooms (ooooooh) on a bed of cauliflower rice. This was AMAZEBALL! OH MY GOSH! It was like oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh, OH MY GOSH (get the reference?). The ‘rice’ gave it a nice crunchy texture and they were quite generous with the mushrooms which scored them bonus points! I didn’t find it too salty or bland, I found it just right! Gosh, I could literally eat 10 plates of them if my eating tummy was a touch bigger.

Medley of Mushrooms – $17
on cauliflower rice, grilled pepper romesco, spiced pepitas and soy bean crisp

This is such a cute little cafe which offers awesome sauce food. It’s tucked away on a main road but once you find it, you are in for a treat. The service was great, they were very attentive and made sure our water was always topped up and that we didn’t go hungry. They do get busy, so make sure you come in bright and early to enjoy the eatery. Will definitely come back as nimbly as I can to check out the rest of the menu.
