White Mojo, Balwyn

If you are up to date with any social media, you’d definitely have seen some of the prettiful dishes from White Mojo in the city.  Did you know that there’s another White Mojo in Balwyn and it’s hip and happening just like the one in the CBD. I dragged Mr D to Balwyn to check out the bustling White Mojo.

When you walk inside, you get hit in the face with AMAZEBALL interior and an even more awesome sauce painting of a puppy on the back wall.

The interior was very neutral and the decor made it eatery look so roomy.

At the front counter, there were baked goodies for your choosing and of course, the main reason why we’re here, BRUNCH TIME!

We were greeted very warmly by the staff and was shown to our table and the cafe was already packed with people and it was only 11AM guys! Mr D got a latte and was quite impressed with it. He had two coffees and was buzzing on caffeine.

Latte – $4

I opted for the hot matcha latte because I LOVE LOVE LOVESSSS my matcha! It was quite fragrant and creamy. I did find it a touch bitter though.

Now the food came out and I was super duper excited! I got the Cauliflower Pannacotta which also hadchorizo dust, canadian scallop, crispy pancetta, 63 degrees egg, dehydrated onion and potato popcorn. When this came out, it was theatrically pleasing. Once the cloche was lifted, the smoke whooshed away and what was left behind was magnificent.

Everything on this dish was awesome sauce, especially the pannacotta. It was super silky, the scallop was plump and juicy and Mr D absolutely adores the the chorizo dusting! He wished he could bathe in it! The egg wasn’t runny which was a little disappointing though. Other then that, LOVED IT!

Cauliflower Pannacotta – $21

Mr D got the white mojo croissant burger which had an egg, soft shell crab, smoked eel and chipolte mayonnaise. This was DELISH! Mr D went to town on this burger. The croissant was flaky, the crab was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and my gosh, everything was AMAZEBALL! Mr D only gave me a teeny tiny bite and devoured the rest.

White Mojo Croissant Burger – $24

We also tried the Eton Mess because I wanted to feel a tad healthier. It consisted of organic yoghurt, berries, freeze dried berries, strawberries gel, spice meringue and coconut gel. This wasn’t super sweet which was very surprising. I loved the freeze dried berries and this is a great option for those who love to have yoghurt for breakfast but also has a sweet tooth.

Eton Mess – $16.50

By now we were so full that we practically had to roll out the door. The we saw the doughnuts in the cabinet. We couldn’t say no to dessert (when I say we, I actually mean me).

I got the blueberry one and I think Mr D got the cinnamon one. The blueberry one is super duper sweet and it was so colourful! I mean, who wouldn’t love that? Mr D liked his one but I didn’t find it sweet at all. Each to their own I guess.

I saw quite a few people come in and out for take away hot drinks and noticed that they had colourful lids! Isn’t that the cutest?? I love that!
