I came here with a friend for dinner since she was craving Korean. We were in the area since we were seeing 112 (YEAH BOIIII!) and needed to stay close to the venue. I made a reservation on a Sunday night but we were a tad late but I called ahead to let them know (politeness FTW).
We got there and it wasn’t even full at all (guess we didn’t really need to make a booking…).
The wait staff were so polite and showed us to our table. We were famished so we quickly ordered. First up, prawn mandoo which were steamed prawn dumplings. They were a little bit flavourless. That was disappointing since I LOOOOOVE dumplings.
Prawn Mandoo – $10 (4pc)
Steamed and pan fried prawn and veggies dumplings
We also got jap chae which were sweet potato noodles because I ALWAYS get jap chae!! However, this was also bland and quite oily.
Jap Chae – $18
Stir fried sweet potato noodles with mushrooms and veggies in home made soy sauce
We got the pork belly to eat with the jap chae since it was a vego dish. The pork belly was quite spicy and wayyyyy too saucy. I didn’t really particularly like it either.
Gochujang Pork Belly – $23
Sliced pork belly marinated with homemade spicy gochujang sauce with veggies
The staff were so friendly and the environment was great. The food, not so great and quite pricey which was a let down. I think I’ll give Zen a miss and zen elsewhere. Sorry guys!
