Boreks, North Melbourne

As we walked past Queen Victoria Market on our way for lunch, my friend dragged me into the Deli Hall to introduce me to Boreks for a snack (I was getting quite Hangry at this point).

I looked around and I see almost EVERYONE holding a long pastry/bread just chomping away. We lined up and I got the cheese and spinach because I LOVE cheese! They cost $3 each (BARGAIN!!) and they were GINORMOUS! This was the most Fantabulous, amazingly, cheesy thing I’ve had! The dough was slightly crispy, the insides were melted enough that it felt like it was heaven in my mouth.

My friend got the best seller one which was the spicy lamb. I took a bite of it and it too was amazing. It had onions, spices and lamb and it was all hot, fresh from the oven and I was so sad that this was the first time I’ve eaten it, EVER.

Spicy Lamb – $3

This is such a great snack and it’s so cheap! It’s bursting with flavours, baked fresh every time and so convenient to eat. Every time I walk past Queen Victoria Market, I’ll make sure I’ll duck in to have this Turkish heavenly borek.
