Lux Foundry, Brunswick

image

Dress shopping was on the agenda with the two stooges (ARGH!) and so we were on Sydney Road. After the first appointment, we were recommended by the staff to drop by Lux Foundry for brunch so that’s exactly what we did. We ventured out and battled against the strong Melbourne winds and found Lux Foundary, just across the train tracks.

Zaatar, Coburg

image

It was time to catch up with the K sisters and Miss Pear and today it was brunch at their favourite Lebanese brunch place – zaatar on Sydney Road in Coburg. Unfortunately, Miss Pear wasn’t able to make it so it was a double date with the K sisters. The K sisters got there first and got a table by the window. Mr D and I got there and Miss Candy and Mr D went up to order a brunch feast (if I get any of the food wrong, my apologies since all I did was eat HOHOHO!). When they came back, the table numbers were on wooden spoons which was so adorable!

The Meatball & Wine Bar, Melbourne

image

It was ANZAC day which meant the dawn service will get people out of their beds and stay for the ANZAC parade. While Miss Train and I couldn’t get our butts out early enough, we did make it in time for the parade and shuffled on over to the Meatball and Wine Bar for some brekkie. The Meatball and Wine bar is the hot spot for catching up with friends over wine or good hearty food. However, due to the ever growing of popularity of breakfast, they have recently opened their doors for breakfast on the weekdays. So this was where I spent my morning with Miss Train.

Stop 17 Cafe & Bar, Fitzroy

Stop 17 is the newest addition to the Fitzroy cafe scene (you also get off at tram stop 17 as well!). Big deal, I hear you say. Sure we have heaps of cafes everywhere but what makes this one special is that upstairs there’s a writer’s room. What’s a writer’s room? It’s a room where you can study / write / contemplate about life and you won’t get rushed out or disturbed unless you want to be. Also, they have BREAKFAST ALL FREAKING DAY!! Let the brunch adventure begin at Stop 17!

I’ve been booking places via Dimmi and I finally got a $50 voucher to use (SCORE!) and so I took Mr D to a brunch place I’ve been eyeing – Dr Jekyll in the heart of St Kilda.

Two Brothers Mitcham, Mitcham

We were doing adult things and were house hunting which means there were hour long gaps in between each house. Mr D suggested (yes, he did and not me) to have brunch (YAY!! BRUNCH TIME!) and we found Two Brothers Mitcham.

Rudimentary, Footscray

Brunch time with my girlies and Mr Burberry and we wanted to go somewhere local on a Sunday morning and settled on Rudimentary. Rudimentary is unique in that it’s in a shipping container (sayyyy whhhhat???) which means it can be picked up and moved anywhere! The outdoor section is really spacious and very cute, little kids running around and quite a few plants out and about. We got there at 10:30AM and had to wait for 1 hour (Oh em gee, I thought I was dying of starvation) and finally got a table for 5. The staff were super friendly and it was spacious on the inside. Order up guys!
