There’s a new Italian joint in Windsor that’s just opened up and inside it’s so chic with very friendly staff. There’s plenty of parking around and if there’s one door but everyone seems to walk past and miss it. Anywho, back to Tipico, we were seated and then our little eyes scanned the menu began our comfort eating.
The arancini were so delish! Crunchy on the outside, warm and oozy on the inside. It was so flavoursome and I guarantee it’s one of the best arancinis I’ve ever had.
Arancini (3pc) – $12
Meatballs! Meatballs! Who could say no to meatballs? The veal and beef meatballs were quite dense but with the napoli sugo was just amazeballs! The garlic crostini was crispy and it had the perfect amount of garlic.
Polpette (4pc) – $18
Veal & beef meatballs, napoli sugo, garlic crostini
Now onto the mains, the braised beef ragu was rich, TOTES AMAZEBALLS, melt in your mouth and the pappardelle was cooked al dente. It looked ginormous and yes, it was. Mr D had one little complaint though, there was not enough ragu to pasta but other then that, it was definitely on point.
Pappardelle – $26
Braised beef ragu
I’m a huge fan of mushrooms and when I saw that there was a pizza with mushrooms and brie, I just couldn’t resist. This had so much flavour. The base could have been more fluffier but that topping made up for it.
Funghi & Speck – $24
Fior di latte, forest mushroom, speck, thyme, brie
To finish off our lunch we had the chocolate mousse and my gosh it was AMAZEBALLS. It wasn’t overly sweet and the hint of sicilian salt sprinkled on top gave it a nice oomph. I would definitely recommend getting this dessert.
Torta al Cioccolato – $14
Chocolate mousse, hazelnut biscuit
Mr D ended the meal with latte and found it to be quite average but we weren’t here for the coffee, we were here for the food.
Tipico is such a great little gem and everything we had was TOTES AMAZEBALLS, especially the dessert and the ragu. Basically everything we had was awesome and we will definitely be back.
