Holla Coffee Roasters, Richmond

Holla! Got your attention now haven’t I? Well Holla Coffee Roasters also got my attention and located on the quiet end of the Victoria Street in Richmond. There’s parking in the back streets so don’t worry if you drive in. Walking inside, you can feel the buzz of the cafe and you’ll notice that heaps of customers come in and get take away coffees. The staff were super friendly and the space was sleek with plenty of greenery.

Mr D started the day with a latte and oh my holy gosh it was AMAZEBALLS! It was like a if you were running in a field of flowers with the sun shining down on you. That was how we felt when we had the latte. Now we understand why so many people were coming in just for coffees.

Latte – $4

I got the bulletproof smoothie that’s gluten free with awesome sauce flavours including bananas, peanut butter and dates. It’s quite thin and not your typical thick smoothies but it was very refreshing and I didn’t feel bloated at all. LOOK AT THE CUP IT COMES IN GUYS!

Bulletproof Smoothie – $12.50
Raw cacao, hemp protein, medjool dates, brain octane oil, banana, house made almond milk, espresso coffee, cordyceps & reishi powder, peanut butter

I’m a huge fan of anything Japanese and was super excited when I saw there was a dish that had sous-vide salmon, green tea soba and yuzu dressing! The salmon was cooked perfectly and just melted in my mouth. Everything was really fresh but unfortunately, the yuzu dressing was not strong enough or there wasn’t enough of it. The dish needed something umami to just finish it off and make it complete.

Tokyo Rose – $21
Sous-vide miso salmon, green tea soba noodles, pickled veg, cucumber, edamame, red cabbage, chili, shredded nori, wasabi yuzu dressing

Mr D got the crab crumpets and oh man, these were oh so delightful. The soft shell crab was so crispy and crunchy but not dry at all. The hollandaise with the bacon crumb, it was heaven! To top it off the poached eggs were cooked egg-cellently and just oozed out yolky goodness. Definitely a must have if you come here.

Crab Crumpets – $24
Whole crispy soft-shell crab, kasundi, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise, bacon crumb & avocado on crumpets

To end brunch on a sweet note, we got the croffle s’mores and holy moly this was AMAZEBALLS! They were croissants squashed into a waffle with raspberry pistachio parfait and oh my gosh everything was just perfect. It wasn’t overly sweet, it was refreshing and the croffle was light and fluffy.

Croffle S’mores – $19.50
Croissant waffles with raspberry pistachio parfait, strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb & rose syrup

Mr D could not resist having the Vietnamese Styled ice coffee but unfortunately it wasn’t as strong as he was use to having which was quite disappointing.

Vietnamese Style Iced Coffee – $5.50

Holla is serving awesome sauce coffees and brunch. Definitely come for the coffee and stay for the croffles. Oh, for those drinkers out there, they do bottomless brunch for $60 where you get one dish and unlimited alcohol (as stated in their terms).
