Pizzas, who doesn’t love them? Now, what about wood-fired pizza? Yep, I’m salivating too! Well you lucky north-siders, there’s a pizzeria called Shop 225 which is located on the main street of Melville Road (park on the side peeps!) which not only serves up wood-fired pizza but they’re also VEGAN and VEGETARIAN friendly!! It’s a cosy little joint so first in first served bros.
Once you step inside, the friendly staff will fret over you and make sure you’re all comfy and ready for a feast. Now, Baby A got the Lurisia lemonade and my oh my, it was refreshing, strong in lemon flavour and just AWESOME SAUCE.
Lurisia Limonata – $4.50
I got the good ol’ trusty Spritz Aperol and it was refreshing, great on a Melbourne’s summer night.
Spritz Aperol – $12
Now, finally to the pizzas. First up was the Bufala and it was light, fresh and everything was just oh so delish! The dough was AMAZEBALL! Absolutely to die for. However, we felt that it could have been in the oven a bit more longer for a crispness and crunchiness to it. Other then that, LOVED IT!
Bufala – $25
Bufala mozzerella, cherry tomatoes, basil, prosciutto
Next up, the bianca gamberi which had prawns on it. I enjoyed this more than the first pizza. Again, not too heavy and absolutely delish!
Bianca Gamberi – $20
Stracciatella cheese, prawns, parsley, pancetta
Finally, we couldn’t leave without dessert so we got a tiramisu to share. This was GINORMOUS! Very rich and not too strong in coffee either.
Would I come back? Most definitely. The pizzas were awesome sauce, the staff were fantabulous and I left the pizzeria satisfied.
