One of my work mate has never tried korean BBQ and we decided to all take him (road trip…not really!). Miss Mousey chose the place and it was all the way in Carnegie – Korean BBQ. She made a booking and in we went.
Since it was a Friday night, we all decided to be naughty and get the rice wine to share and the cups were itty bitty saucepans (how cutie patootie!).
Rice Wine – $16
Cheers big ears!
We got the gourmet banquet which was $33.50 per person AND it was all you can eat MEAT! MEAT GALORE! As we patiently wait for our dishes to come out, the sides came out first. Now, these are refillable so once they’re low, get some more yo!
The banquet includes two mandu which were korean dumplings. These were so crispy on the outside and oh so delish on the inside. We LOVE it!
Mandu
We all got to get a dish each and we decided to share. First up was the beef bibimbap. You gotta be careful because the hot bowl is super duper hot so make sure you don’t burn yourself. You add in chili sauce and stir everything in. This was absolutely AMAZEBALL! It was so good!! The only downside, the servings were teeny tiny.
Beef Bibimbap
You can also get a seafood option too!
Seafood Bibimbap
If you’re into spiciness, you need to get your hands on the kimchi soup. It’s awesome but its super spicy, I could only handle one spoonful then gave up.
Kimchi Soup
Now, all the meat were all you can and when I saw all the meat, I mean ALL THE MEAT! So, enjoy all the different meats and eat to your heart’s desire.
Pork Belly
Spicy Octopus
Best part of the banquet, also includes a dessert each. We got all the ice cream flavours – green tea, sesame and vanilla ice cream. I absolutely ADORED the green tea ice cream and not a huge fan of the sesame one.
Ice cream
This is a great little gem, it’s a shame that they close at 10:30PM on a Friday night. The banquet is definitely worth the moolah and the meats were amazing and fresh. I will definitely come back if I’m ever in need of a Korean BBQ fix.
