Brunch time with my girlies and Mr Burberry and we wanted to go somewhere local on a Sunday morning and settled on Rudimentary. Rudimentary is unique in that it’s in a shipping container (sayyyy whhhhat???) which means it can be picked up and moved anywhere! The outdoor section is really spacious and very cute, little kids running around and quite a few plants out and about. We got there at 10:30AM and had to wait for 1 hour (Oh em gee, I thought I was dying of starvation) and finally got a table for 5. The staff were super friendly and it was spacious on the inside. Order up guys!
I got the croque monsieur which was a sandwich with grandmother ham, bechamel, guyere and a fried egg. It was pretty delish but not WOW delish. It wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be either. The sandwich also needed more ham in it (just a tad more would have been nice)
Croque Monsieur – $16
Mr burberry got the bacon steak with a fried egg, avocado puree and baked beans. This was pretty goddamn delish! I was so jelly! The bacon steak was cooked perfectly, my gosh! YUMMILICIOUS!
Bacon Steak – $19
Miss Asian Fusion got the burger which had wagyu beef, red eye mayonnaise and guyere. THIS WAS ALSO AMAZEBALL!! The sauce, the wagyu, the EVERYTHING!!
The Burger – $16
Miss Teeth got the barramundi and it was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! The chorizo was a bit over done but the barramundi covered it up!
Barramundi – $22
Miss Cray Cray got the Reuben sandwich which consisted of pastrami, sauerkraut and guyere. This was the least favourite dish and it was very average.
Reuben Sandwich – $14
The food here was AMAZEBALL and I would definitely come back. The only down side, the long queue so make sure you go with great company because you’ll be stuck waiting with them too!
