The Firehouse, Ringwood

Since it was a rainy, cold Melbourne sunday which also hailed, we decided to not take our chances and miss the Melbourne Open houses and have lunch instead. Mr D took me to The Firehouse and it was literally the old Metro Fire Station and turned it to an eatery (how cute is that???). We came through the back and was so confused to where we were suppose to go….Mr D found the right door…haha The Back Entrance

Of course I had to rush to the front and take a few pics of the building!!

We walked in and was asked if we had a reservation and of course Mr D didnt. Luckily, they had a spot considering it was 1pm lunch (it was meant to be brunch…). We were seated near the fireplace and the decor is the most cutest, cosiest, lovable ever! They had paintings in every room and you just feel warm when you enter and you just feel HAPPY (or in Mr D’s case, neutral…)!!

We sat in the comfy chairs (wooohoo) and started to look at the menu to order brunch food…

I got a chai latte as usual and I thought it was pretty decent.

I decided to get the Potato Rosti which comes with huon salmon and truffle scented scramble eggs. It came out and it was pretty decent sized. The potato rosti was very hard so I just picked at the inside of the rosti. The huon salmon was really salty but the scrambled eggs was pretty yummy!! I didn’t really like my dish that much, luckily Mr D was willing to share his with me!

Mr D got the Open Omlette with caponata, ricotta salata, chorizo and cyprus bread. When it came out it was GINORMOUS!!! It looked soooo delish!! When I tried it, it was soooo yummy!! It was a touch on the salty side but it was delish nonetheless!! If you’re into eggs and want some meatiness in it, get this dish, you won’t be disappointed.

With great ambiance, friendly staff, warmth of the eatery and delish food, I would definitely come back and try out the duck!! This place is on FIRE!!!
