The Grand Trailer Park Taverna, Melbourne

I finally got to come here and I decided to take Mr D out (Yes, I took him and not the other way around, Ka-ching!). We got there at 11:30am on a Saturday and thank god they open at 11:30am!

As we walked up the stairs there were fairy lights hanging and the walls were painted with trees and the ocean – very tropical feel *cue Hawaiian music*.

We entered the establishment and BAM, was hit in the face with trailers hence the GRAND TRAILER PARK (very clever hohoho)!

We got to the counter and I got myself the KSA which includes a premium Aussie beef patty, American Cheddar Cheese, tomato, butter lettuce, special burger sauce and American mustard on a lightly toasted Brioche Bun. I always go for the smallest burger because let’s face it, that’s the only size which I can fit into ma belly! When it came out, my gosh it was mouthwateringly beautiful. When I bit into it, I found it to be a tad dry (need to up their sauce game) and the bun was super dry…disappointing… Should have totally gotten the David Chang which was the special and that was the KSA burger with Beetroot and fried egg (in regards to his new released article claiming Aussies are the worst at making burgers…)

KSA – $13.50

Mr D made the better choice out of us two. He got the Ivan Drago which includes premium Aussie beef patty, American cheddar cheese, streaky bacon, black russian tomato, sliced beetroot and McDowell sauce on a lightly toasted brioche bun. The sauce/content/meat/everything ratio was SPOT ON! It wasn’t overly filled with meat and everything mixed together was just so DAMN GOOD! *tries to contain my drooling…* Luckily for me, Mr D knows the rules and lets me try everything! YUMMMMOOO!! Such a recommended burger! We also got the small hand cut chips but that was sooo disappointing. It was soggy and way too salty!

The Ivan Drago – $16.50

Small Hand Cut Chips – $2.80

So, verdict is I would come back just for the Ivan Drago burger and maybe check out the rest of the menu. Steer away from the KSA and the chips which weren’t crunchy at all. Decor and ambiance was awesome! I’ll be back the Grand Trailer Park and will check out the outdoor seating area.
