QLD: Che Asado & Bar, South Bank (Brisbane)

Work trip once again and back at Brisbane and this time I was lucky enough to be staying at South Bank where it’s a full of restaurants, cafe and right next to the man made beach. It’s breakfast once again and I was off on a mission.

An Argentine cafe/bar and was opened at 8am and I decided to drop by here because they had colourful pillows on each bench and gave me a blanket because it was still chilly (now that is great service). Since I’m a ‘I like sweet things’ kind of girl, I ordered the Argentine Mocha because I needed something sweet and a coffee hit to start my day. This drink was amazingly sweet, thick (but not as thick as a spanish hot chocolate) and so addictive. The coolest part was it came with a refill for when you ran out. Once I finished my drink, they asked if I wanted a top up (my gosh it was chocolately heaven), of course I declined since I wanted to get onto breakfast – Yes they have a cool candle at each table but it’s for at night to bring out the romance if you know what I mean.

Finally my breakfast came out. I chose to get Chilli Con Carne which includes flat bread, fried egg, smashed avocado, tomato salsa and of course BEEF!!! This dish was too big for me but I gave it all I could. I did have to admit, I had to remove the red onions since I didn’t want to be stinky when my workmate picked me up. This was absolutely beautfiul. The beef wasn’t too salty and the salsa with the avocado was amazing. The flat bread wasn’t really flat bread, more like fried corn chips. I didn’t enjoy that since it was way too oily and I couldn’t wrap everything in it.

This is a great little cafe in Brisbane on South Bank that you’ve got to try. The service was great and the mocha, come for the mocha and stay for the food. Next time I’m coming back for the buttermilk pancake since they didn’t have that last time and of course try out the dinner menu.
